Judy has a strong background with developmentally delayed children, over fifteen years as a school-based speech therapist, and has provided treatment in geriatric settings. She places emphasis on providing individualized instruction tailored to the whole person, and aims to improve communication skills necessary in every aspect of her client's life. Services are designed to include the parents and caregivers, empowering them to become her clients' greatest resource. Collaboration with school-based and other private therapists is provided to create a consistent integrated treatment approach.
Her approach to therapy is uniquely coupled with her expertise as a yoga instructor. She believes movement and breath go together. Her instructional and treatment methodologies focus on combining yoga and speech therapy for greater success. Yoga strengthens and increases flexibility in our bodies; uplifts your mood, reinforces natural kinetic learning and increases language reception, and retention . This leads to children and adults who are more focused, smarter, and calmer. Yoga techniques, and purposeful breathing aligned with physical movement, are simple and open the pathway to increasing speech and language development in adults and children. Therapy is done in both the traditional setting at the table while using yoga postures for breaks in between or the less traditional yoga mat.
